This is a perfect example of why you only buy from breeders that provide health guarantees and that stand behind their puppies! Empire Saria "Roman"   Due to Roman suffering a severe case of wobblers syndrome he was laid to rest on December 27th 2007 just 2 days shy of his first birthday . Rest in peace our sweet angel! This saddens us greatly! We had such high hopes for our sweet boy. This has been a very heartbreaking situation and we hope to never see something so horrible again. He was purchased from the Saria Kennel in Poland and we still have yet to hear back from his breeder. updated: 3-4-09 I have since heard from Roman's breeder and she states that I am in the wrong for putting Roman to sleep. She says I did not even know what his illness was and that I had not done all the necessary testing. There was one more test hat could have been done. Roman could already no longer walk and was defecating on himself. Roman was a true Dane temperament and all. It was very heartbreaking seeing the pain in his eyes....  This is when I decided to make the difficult decision to put him to rest. No dog should ever have to suffer longer just to please the breeder. (He had several x-rays and lots of blood work done. The vets concluded that he had severe genetic wobblers! But since we did not have the mylegoram done his breeder will not replace him.) Also I have been told that his breeder will be writing Roman's "true story" on her webpage! She was not hear to see him suffer and does not know what the TRUE story is. If you have any questions about Roman please contact me. This painting was done by my dear friend Angie!
